KAROO
.... Land of great thirst

Picture an ancient freshwater lake set inland, so vast it appears to stretch into infinity. Imagine the roar of dinosaurs and the heavy thud of thier feet as they venture forth into  the marshy surrounds of the gradually subsiding basin. Climb into a time capsule and hurtle 240 milion year into the future. Alight into the shark landscape of the Karoo National Park . Large mamal-like reptiles and primitive amphibians no longer in habit the Karoo but thier history is entombed in the rock strata and fossils. Thier decendants still roam the plains. Small wonder that the Karoo National Park with its rich diversity is part of the largest ecosystem in South Africa.
