The biggest and best-known of the caves at the Cradle of Humankind is Sterkfontein, where over 500 hominid fossils and over 9 000 stone tools have been found. It was at Sterkfontein that two major finds were made, that have changed modern palaeontology: You  visit the MAROPENG visitor centre - take a boat ride through the history of the world and mankind in a vast underground cavern.
